Sessun
Sessun began life after founder Emma Francois, age 22, made a trip to Latin America. With strong impressions from the amazing culture and craftsmanship that she found there, she decided to leave her masters in economic anthropology behind and dive head first into creating this unique fashion label in 1995.
Starting up with a small collection of accessories drawing inspiration from the South American mountains, using natural materials, Sessun was born and quickly developed into the full fashion range that we see today.
After Emma won the accolade of young designer of the year from the Mediterranean Fashion Institute Sessun broke into the mainstream in 1998 with a showing at Who’s Next, the influential fashion show in Paris.
Sessun moved production to workshops in Emma’s chosen home of Marseille, and with growing interest Sessun quickly became highly regarded, combining raw fabrics, a natural feel and urban inspiration. Sessun clothes also embody an opportunity for artistic expression, with the label actively collaborating with music festivals, dance and graphic design.
Sessun’s Autumn/Winter 2010 collection includes key items such as parka style coats with shearling detailing, versatile mid heel suede boots, the most perfect mini dresses and lux knitwear. All epitomizing the easy going Parisian chic and quirky cool, that Sessun has become known and loved for alongside labels like APC and Isabel Marant.
